Born and raised in Montana, Karen was thrust into the world of live theater at the age of 8 due in, large part, to her mother's fear that she would remain painfully shy the rest of her life. Luckily, being part of the Missoula Children's Theater through High School ignited a lifelong love of acting (and banished any signs of shyness). She even had her first paying radio gig at 10 years old for a local bank. From undergraduate school at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT to graduate studies at Simmons University in Boston, MA Karen has lived, taught and acted her way across the country. Over the last 25 years as an elementary school teacher and later a school librarian, Karen realized educating students required many of the same skills as entertaining an audience, who knew!?
